Even as Halloween is still lurking ahead in the wings, Mandarin oranges, eggnog, and candy canes are showing up on the shelves.

Mandarin Orange

It seems like we just took our tree down.

Christmas creep is real.

If they can't wait for Halloween's warm body to cool a bit before hanging the holly, the least they could do is wait until after the switch back to Standard Time.

Pizza Pops are probably on an EPA list somewhere because of their toxicity.  I had considered buying them for my work lunches some time back, but I had a look at the box and quickly put them back.

"80% saturated fat by volume?  Bleah!"

Last week they had them on sale for a very good price.

"Mmmm... bargain!  Yum!"

"Er, I mean, bleah!"

I feel like I need to degrease my tongue after each bite.  I can see how these might have appealed to me in my teens, back in the days of self-popping audible acne, but now they get two greasy thumbs down from [livejournal.com profile] plonq.  I shan't be buying these again.

I'm having way too much fun with this face generator.  I'm sure the novelty will wear off sooner rather than later, but for now it's pretty amusing.

I was awakened early this morning (7-something) by a call from work, where they were apparently having some problems with one of the servers.  It turned out that the problem was not with the server, but with their ability to read the server logs that explained how everything was working normally.  It turns out that these folks don't know what normal means - but I shall dwell on that no more for the nonce.

[livejournal.com profile] atara and I decided decided that since we were up, we may as well drive over to Perkins for breakfast (and incidentally invite [livejournal.com profile] pierrekrahn since it's just down the street from his place).  Breakfast quickly turned into dim sum, and also ended up involving [livejournal.com profile] dronon since he lives near the restaurant of choice, and he's always pleasant company to have along on a dim sum outing.  This was followed by a side-trip to a Chinese grocer, where we procured a small, eclectic mix of goodies.

The most unusual thing I purchased is something that I'm actually a bit afraid to try.

I'll try this when I've worked up the courage. )
