I know that my powers of observation are not the greatest sometimes, but there are things that you'd think I would notice.

I met a friend at the food court for lunch today.  He went to McDonalds, and I decided to have something equally greasy somewhere else.  I cut through the food court to my restaurant of choice, got my order, walked back to a table near McDonalds and sat down to eat.  As soon as I was seated I noticed a small crowd of people - including mall security - gathered around a lady lying on the floor near where I had ordered my food.  She'd apparently suffered a seizure and had been lying there for some time with this crowd around her.

When I ordered my food I was standing 5 feet away from this.  I had walked right by it three times without noticing a thing.  I can begin to empathize with those people who are standing right next to a major crime and claim, when questioned, that they didn't see a thing.

There was a show on recently about that. I forget what show it was, but they had six people playing basketball, and you had to count the passes made by one team only.

They let everybody watch the tape and count the passes (15). They were then told they had missed something and watched the tape again.

After being told they had again missed something, they were told to watch a third time and this time concentrate on the right side of the screen.

A guy in a gorilla suit walked through the game and even stopped to beat his chest halfway across.

Nobody had seen it.
