I know that my powers of observation are not the greatest sometimes, but there are things that you'd think I would notice.
I met a friend at the food court for lunch today. He went to McDonalds, and I decided to have something equally greasy somewhere else. I cut through the food court to my restaurant of choice, got my order, walked back to a table near McDonalds and sat down to eat. As soon as I was seated I noticed a small crowd of people - including mall security - gathered around a lady lying on the floor near where I had ordered my food. She'd apparently suffered a seizure and had been lying there for some time with this crowd around her.
When I ordered my food I was standing 5 feet away from this. I had walked right by it three times without noticing a thing. I can begin to empathize with those people who are standing right next to a major crime and claim, when questioned, that they didn't see a thing.
