Wow.  Like atara said, we had some seriously stormy weather come through last night.  I had more than a little trouble sleeping through it.  If it wasn't the tremendous crashes of thunder, rattling windows and roar of rain keeping me awake, then it was the snap and sizzle of lightning striking ground in our neighbourhood making me fear for everything electric/electronic in our house.

Somebody caught a few nice shots of the storm as it was just getting warmed up earlier in the evening.  I tried to get a couple shots of my own, but I couldn't get the right angle through the windows (and I was reluctant to take our new camera out into the rain).

Photos are awesome! I once got a great photo of a storm rolling over NYC when I lived in the student housing back at Columbia U. I lived on the 12th floor and my window faced the Hudson river just south of the George Washington Bridge. Big electrical storm rolled in and I lucked out getting a picture of a bolt hitting a building across the river in NJ somewhere.
