The new seniority list came out today and - though it no longer affects me - I have moved to the upper portion of the list. That's not entirely unexpected, given that I have been working here for almost 20 years.
What a depressing landmark that is.
[Edit: When I say it's depressing, it's because this is not what I had envisioned for myself 20 years ago. I'm not doing badly, per se, but I have never felt that I lived up to my potential.]

Date: 2006-05-02 05:03 pm (UTC)One of the problems with a steady paycheque is that it removes the motivation to better yourself, so almost 20 years later, here I (still) am. I admit that I could have done a lot worse for myself, but I'd set my sights a lot higher and never lived up to what I thought I could be.

I might have worked longer at one place if the option was there or if I could actually stand the place.
