Feb. 13th, 2006 07:49 amThey replaced our phone system at work this past week. I came in this morning and found a "new" phone on my desk. On the up side, it's nice to have a replacement for the 1990 vintage phone that I had been using. On the down side, this is not the same phone for which I completed the phone training on Friday - in fact it's not even the same brand. They kindly replaced my ancient phone with an equally decrepit one that's apparently seen more use than had my previous phone.
Oh, and they thoughtfully unplugged the LAN cable from my computer while they were wiring up the phone. Based on the way things were tossed around when I came in today, it looks like they weren't too concerned about what they broke or disconnected during the process of wiring in this phone. <sigh>
Mental note for future reference: if I ever need to hire people to rewire the phones in my house, don't recruit them straight out of detox.
