I had a scheduled 1:1 with my boss this morning to discuss current projects.  Ten minutes before its scheduled time, they sprung a fire drill on us and we had to evacuate the building.  We considered our options, and then moved our  meeting to the coffee shop across the street.

Upon mutual agreement, we're going to hold our future 1:1 meetings in the coffee shop across the street.  I might even stop avoiding these things in the future.

After assessing about 40 different indicators, the EIU (Economist Intelligence Unit - whoever they are) have ranked ranked Vancouver as the best city in the world in which to live.

Well... duh.  I used to live there.  I could have told you that.

Apparently Winnipeg didn't make the list.

I don't know what factors they look at, but the top two US cities on the list were Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

Cleveland is a nice enough place if you steer clear of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (which was a worthless, overpriced tourist trap).  I can't say much for Pittsburgh one way or another aside from the fact that their hockey team sucks.
