Tell me something I didn't know.
Oct. 4th, 2005 10:09 pmAfter assessing about 40 different indicators, the EIU (Economist Intelligence Unit - whoever they are) have ranked ranked Vancouver as the best city in the world in which to live.
Well... duh. I used to live there. I could have told you that.
Apparently Winnipeg didn't make the list.
I don't know what factors they look at, but the top two US cities on the list were Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
Cleveland is a nice enough place if you steer clear of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (which was a worthless, overpriced tourist trap). I can't say much for Pittsburgh one way or another aside from the fact that their hockey team sucks.

I only lived right in the city proper (near Commercial Drive) for a few weeks. Then I was up on Annmore mountain. Scott Road and 101 in Surrey for a little while.
Then I moved to the Sunshine Coast.
I found the city of Vancouver difficult to get around in. True, the Sky Train was a fast way in. But commuting to work meant lining up for a bridge every morning and again every evening.
I used to really hate the smog there. But now that I'm living in the Toronto area, I notice it's much worse here.
