Bleah. TGIF

I stopped and picked up coffee and a toasted bagel with cream cheese on my way to work this morning.  The bagel that I chose was their "everything" bagel, which seems to be a whole-wheat bagel with poppy seeds, sesame seeds and a couple of other seeds on top.  I remember a radio segment from about fifteen(ish) years back in which they brought in people from two different bagel camps: those who liked fancy bagels, and those who felt that anything other than a plain bagel was an evil perversion.

Have sensibilities changed over time, or is the battle still ongoing?

Uninvited guest

When we got home this evening we were greeted by a little uninvited guest. It was hanging on the screen of the back window, trying to find a way out.



Once we'd caught it (rather, it caught itself by jumping into a box that it couldn't jump out of) we didn't have the heart to kill it. We snapped a couple of pictures, and then I flung it way out into the alley. It bounced a couple of times, looked around and then ran off down the alley as fast as its little mouse legs could carry it.

We chastized the cats for not doing their job. They just blinked.
