I told her to shut off her computer and not to power it up again until she had a copy of Norton Antivirus in her hands, ready to install.  What concerns me is that she was running McAfee on her computer, and this virus went right through it like Sir Lancelot blowing past the two swamp-castle sentries in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  I have a hunch this one is going to require a house call before it's done.  Somebody who's owned a computer for five years should not be that computer illiterate (I had to make a house call to help wire up a plug & play USB printer...)

On an unrelated note, texturized vegetable protein tastes much better than it sounds.  [livejournal.com profile] atara subjected me to one of the recipes from her childhood (tvp tacos) and they were really good.  She was suitably horrified that I put ketchup on them, but that's one of my own childhood recipes.

We wandered through an antique mall today and made a couple of spontaneous purchases, then we went upstairs to the odd Chinese boutique and bought something else.

More strange little animal figurines. )
