I told her to shut off her computer and not to power it up again until she had a copy of Norton Antivirus in her hands, ready to install.  What concerns me is that she was running McAfee on her computer, and this virus went right through it like Sir Lancelot blowing past the two swamp-castle sentries in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  I have a hunch this one is going to require a house call before it's done.  Somebody who's owned a computer for five years should not be that computer illiterate (I had to make a house call to help wire up a plug & play USB printer...)

On an unrelated note, texturized vegetable protein tastes much better than it sounds.  atara subjected me to one of the recipes from her childhood (tvp tacos) and they were really good.  She was suitably horrified that I put ketchup on them, but that's one of my own childhood recipes.

Considering that Norton only discovered the existance of Beagle.K@mm on March 3 (although it's updates since Feb. 17 will detect it)...

I've watched Norton's LiveUpdate run automatically 3 or 4 times in the past week, including once on Sunday, keeping up with almost-daily virii that have been coming out recently.

You've just about got to check for updates every time you turn on the computer nowadays. (And their renewal price is now $20 a year, too...)

Another nasty {sigh}. Out of 28 emails so far today 23 of the, were Beagle generated. At least if Nortons decription is correct. This is getting tiresome.
