and things went downhill from there

I was going to drive up to the park to snap a picture for today's entry, but I got as far as the back alley and noticed a woodpecker in the tree next door. I pulled out my camera to try and capture a couple shots of it, and while I had the camera out, photo opportunities began literally crawling out of the underbrush.

This is the neighbour's cat, venturing cautiously out into the snow. It was -20 today, and he seemed a bit unimpressed to be out in that weather.
