Although we are trying to save up a bit of money before the con, neither did we want to go shopping this week and stock up the house just before we left, so we compromised and went for 1/2 price sushi this evening.

orleans knows the place - we ate there a few times on half-price Mondays when he lived here. It's the same Teppanyaki place where a group of us went the weekend before last. As sushi restaurants go, this is a pretty good steak place.

As atara described our sushi experience there as quite whelming (neither over, nor under). I tend to agree. It wasn't bad sushi, but I'm glad that it was only half-price. They cut the usual corners that one would expect in half-price - old fish, artificial crab meat, etc. We will probably go back there someday for steaks, but I think I'll give their sushi bar a miss next time. There are much better places around this town.

Yeah, that's a good place. Yum! :D For a town of its size in the middle of the Prairies, Winnipeg has a hella lotta good sushi joints. Moreso than Ottawa, although there are a few nice ones here too. :)
