Teppanyaki
Nov. 8th, 2004 09:55 pmWe met up with six furry friends this evening and went out for dinner at a local Teppanyaki restaurant (or is that Benihana?). It's a bit more money than I like to spend on dinner, but it's not the kind of thing that we do more than once or twice a year, so we both decided to kick back and enjoy ourselves. I drove us there, but
atara promised to drive us home if I decided that I wanted to have a couple of drinks.
I took her up on the offer, and started off with a blue martini (it's basically 1 1/2 oz. Gin, 1/2 oz. Dry Vermouth, 1/2 oz. Blue Curacao). I quite liked it, but
atara declared that it smelled like cough syrup and tasted worse.
Dinner was, as expected, very good - though the chef picked mercilessly on poor
phar while he cooked. Several of us ordered drinks called Pandas. The reason for the drink's name became self-obvious when they arrived. We even got to take home the, er, drinking vessels afterward.
Note the use of a cat to establish scale.

phar Has way more detail about the outing in her journal - and she has pictures too.
