Fire in the hole!

plonqA pot on the stove boiled over and we had our first grease fire last night. Fortunately we were all standing around in the kitchen when it happened, and neither atara nor I panicked when we suddenly found ourselves facing down some 18" flames dancing on the top of our stove. Our quick actions limited the overall damage to a house full of the pungent smell of burnt grease.
In a worst-case scenario, I have an ABC rated fire extinguisher. Fortunately it was within easy reach. Unfortunately "within easy reach" does not necessarily mean that you know exactly where it is. We spent a few moments tracking it down after we'd cleaned up, and moved it out into plain sight.
