Won't somebody think of the fabulously wealthy?

As I get older, and my acquaintances on Facebook get older, I see more and more old person memes. While I am not specifically referring to pictures of old people (though many of them are memes of "gosh, like and share if you are old like me and have these issues"), I am specifically referring to the right-wing memes shared by old people.

Back in my day we didn't need taxes or welfare.

Like and share if you think we should de-fund schools and welfare to hire more police.

I remember when vinyl records were a thing and there were only two genders.

I guess the only thing I need to add is the passive-aggressive bit at the end: "Like and Share if you agree. I guess I'll know who my real friends are when I see who shares this."

Defund the unions! Bring back company towns and paying wage slaves with company money that is worthless everywhere except in the company store! Expand jails and using convicts as free labor! Bring back child labor (they won't be wasting time in school anyway)! Defund the hospitals! Like and share and share again!

Friggin' unions. I hated it so much when I was in the union. They wouldn't leave well-enough alone and kept demanding things for me like a living wage, benefits, and a safe working environment.

Every time I went from paycheque to paycheque, not wondering how I would survive between them, I couldn't help feeling sorry for the company, and how much more profitable it would have been if they could have just paid me starvation wages to work part-time.
