plonq: (Ack!)

OMGWTF?!  I just noticed that I'm wearing mis-matching shoes.  I must have been really out of it when I dressed myself this morning.

They're not just slightly mismatched, but VERY mismatched.  What's worse is that I won't get a chance to fix the situation because we are heading out for dinner and a movie right after work without stopping at home.  I'm such a dork.

Would it be possible for Atara to swing by the house to pick up replacements during her lunch hour?

Maybe a quick stop at a shoe store during your lunch hour.

She doesn't have long for lunch. I could do it on my lunch break, but I'd be looking at a 90ish minute process just to swap out some shoes. Meh. I'm used to looking like a dork. They may point and laugh in the restaurant, but the sushi will still taste good. =9

ACK!
You know? I've always worried something like that might happen to me :P Especially because I keep my shoes mostly asorted except for the ones I wear the most, and it's badly lit there >.

At least I remembered pants this morning. Somehow I think that would have been worse.

Do they at least have the same length heels? ;-)

They're close enough in feel that I didn't notice until I took them off at work and went to put them on again. Both shoes are black, but that's where the similarity ends.

I'm usually fairly careful about dressing, but I've had embarrassing moments in the past... like the time I spent almost a whole day wearing some new pants that had a big sticker on the butt with the size, or the time I spent a whole day with my shirt on inside-out.

Yeah - I have one of those now and then too. A couple of years ago I showed up at a banquet, and didn't realize until my brother pulled me aside that I had my shirt on backwards.

You could always use a variation of a Steven Wright line:

"She said, 'You're wearing two differently coloured socks.' I said, 'Yes, but to me they're the same, because I go by thickness.'"

At least the shoes are the same colour. They are very obviously mismatched, but I'm hoping that I won't have a lot of people looking at my feet when we're out tonight.

We're going to see the 6:50 showing of Hero up at Polo Park this evening. D'ye think you might be off work early enough to be interested? (Assuming you want to see that movie, of cousre).

I've never been able to afford to have more than 1 pair of shoes, so I never have this problem. I always do wonder at people who have 3 or more pairs of shoes though, I wonder how they can possibly afford it :)

I buy cheap shoes. =)

I'm very hard on shoes, but I've learned that if I have two or more pairs and trade off regularly that they last much longer. What I mean is, if a pair would normally last me 8 months, then if I buy two pairs then I'm usually good for 24 months instead of 16 that I'd normally get if I bought them sequentially.

I have this constant fear when I am dressing in the morning...

You see, I have 2 or 3 pair of pants which are modified for use with costumes. Costumes with tails. Pants with openings for tails.

These are otherwise completely normal pants. The mere thought of showing up to work wearing one of THOSE is enough to make me check that the butt of the pants is intact, regardless of how many times I have checked that day. :>

I think you should go into work dressed as Anubis one day. ;=3

Maybe you should use velcro on those pants, so that when you don't have a tail the opening stays closed, in case you do forget to check one day ^^

Dork. =:)

... at least you didn't grab Atara's shoes by mistake. Now that would have been really good.

Now I am feeling all maternal-like. Atara, what are you going to do with this boy??

=;D

Apparently he's been going around telling people that I dress him.

Announcement: I take NO responsibility as to what Plonq wears everyday. I love him to death, but he's not exactly a fashion plate. Poor dear. At least he had on pants.

The first thought that came to me was ... "that seems like a very Plonq-like thing to do". XD Sorry, I couldn't resist. :D
