Oh boy, I bet they got what was coming to them. OK, so she flipped them off... and... ... and?

I clicked through to one of those Buzzfeed listicles this morning because it was about a subject that interested me. While the subject did interest me, I only got three items into the list before I became too irritated by it to proceed any further.

Each item was worded in a way to try and incite indignation in a sympathetic reader. It was just an echo chamber for reinforcing one's outrage over societal injustices. I probably could have powered through the list if that was the extent of it, but they also felt the need to tie every list item to a large, looping, animated GIF that was not related to the point.

At one time this was described by the derisive term "dancing bologna", and it was considered bad web design; now it seems to be an accepted paradigm. It almost feels insulting to me, as if the site designers think that my attention span will wane three items into a list unless I ... MONKEY TRUCK!!

If I ever see a click-bait headline, even if it's relatively interesting and a friend posted it, I just don't click. We have to take a stand somewhere!

On a fairly unrelated topic, I recently encountered the concept of a wiggle GIF.

This would be kind of neat to see here and there, instead of static images.
