Down the rabbit hole

While I freely admit that I spend a lot of time on-line, there is no single activity that holds me. I am not addicted to Twitter, or Facebook, or any of the traditional activities that sucks people into the act of twitching every time their phone vibrates.

Every once in awhile though, I find myself sucked down the rabbit hole. This happened to me last night as I was getting ready to head off to bed. I got into a nostalgic kick of watching old 80s videos for songs that I knew, but whose music videos I had never seen (Billy Idol's"To Be a Lover" and the like). Somewhere in the in the mix I got diverted onto a tangent and finally forced myself to head to bed when I found myself watching my fourth video in a row of a geek reviewing The Rollie.

IMDB is the worst for suddenly realizing it's 5am. It starts out innocently enough looking for what else the actor who played Garak starred in. That leads to Clint Eastwood, etc. etc. somehow linking to Das Boot and Cross of Iron. And then you realize that David Warner's appearances in Star Trek probably weren't worth the missed sleep on a worknight.

But, he did help teach those dratted Kilrathi a thing or two in Wing Commander.
