Aug. 11th, 2004 08:36 amOne of the staff approached me a few minutes ago for assistance. One of his 3270 emulation sessions wasn't working, so he called the "help desk". The person at the other end apparently had no idea what he was talking about, but didn't let that stop her from giving him instructions to reconfigure and move a couple of files. Now none of his 3270 sessions work.
This is one of those cases when "close all windows and reboot" would have fixed the problem.
I suggested to him that he call them back and see if they could cripple a few more critical applications. I hope he didn't take me seriously, but he was dialling as I walked away.
