As I was walking in this morning (what a fine, brisk autumn day!) I caught a glimpse of the headline on one of our local papers.

"WHERE DID OUR SUMMER GO?"

A prominent quote in the article said, "It's like we skipped right over August and jumped into October."  That pretty much sums up the bulk of our "summer".

Same here. most of this week so far has bee fall-like weather.

If this was a welcome break in an otherwise hot summer I wouldn't mind, but this has been one of the coldest, crappiest summers I can remember.

Bah. I'd gladly trade summers if you like. After the brutal winter we had to ensure this year we deserved a better summer than we've had so far.

The problem with crappy weather is that there's nobody to whom you can readily assign blame. It would be so cathartic to be able to point at somebody and say, "You! This is all YOUR fault!"
