atara demanded cookies this weekend, so we bought semi-sweet chocolate and peanut butter M&Ms while we were out yesterday. This is one of those ideas that turned to sound better on paper than it worked out in execution. The cookies are good - I don't anticipate throwing them out or giving them away - but they are very sweet, and almost too rich to be enjoyable. The ones I made with the red and green Smarties over Christmas turned out really good, and the only change in the recipe from that batch was the M&Ms, so I am blaming those.
The lesson here is that if something tastes too sweet to go into cookies, it probably is. It is the failures in life that help us to improve.
