plonq: (Geeky Mood)

A video of what pi sounds like has been making the rounds lately, and it sounds pretty cool - though pretty much anything played on the C scale is going to sound vaguely musical. This video is as much a testament to their skill in arrangement as it is to the musical qualities of pi.

While I was watching it, I was reminded of a much older music video about pi by the comedy duo Hard 'n Phirm. It is wonderfully true to the form of children's educational programming that was popular in the 80s, which is what makes it moderately disturbing in a good way.

Somebody has kindly isolated the song from the sketch into a sing-along version, which I have posted here.

Wonder if someone could convert the first....however many decimals it's been calculated to... into a MIDI file sometime.

Being I'm not quite awake I did watch the whole video, which I found amusing... but I wanted more.

In fact, when I first started reading your post I thought it was a musical about π the movie, which would've been great. Though perhaps extremely strange to script.
