These guys strap explosives to a bunny, light the fuse and toss it into a lake.

My favourite quote from the article:

"I think that a lot of people are judging us without knowing us at all," Sigmon said. Asked why he fitted Lucky with the explosive, he said, "Um, that's a real tough question to answer."

Oh yes, that's a really hard thing to answer. A better question would be if he'd like a lit M100 shoved up his nether regions himself. Alternatives to strapping explosives onto bunnies that you can no longer take care of include:

Give to friend
Give to shelter
release back into wild (it was a wild bunny before, so this is okay)
take to rabbit farm
post ad at Petsmart for adoption (or in newspaper)

I just hope that college requires him to take plenty of Humanities classes - he's quite deficiant in such.

Hmmm ...

I went to UCSD and had their Humanities coursework ... he'd not learn anything. However, UCSD is an easy thirty minutes' drive from my house. I don't know where Lake Castro is, though, and a young lifeguard is probably too much for me, physically. Unless I surprised him, in the dark, late one night on campus - which I would never do, because I am a stable, law abiding citizen. Yup.

I can imagine the headlines:
"Kidnapped student found alive and well in Anza Borrego desert - bound in duct tape and a bunny suit, with a sign that reads 'Coyote Chow' ..."

Bonus Irony

"In retrospect," Sigmon admitted, "it's easy to see that it was a really stupid thing to do. It was a horrible idea."

One wonders if he'd be so apologetic if he hadn't gotten caught.
