Jul. 26th, 2004 03:25 pmEverything seemed normal when I came to work today, but when I sat down at my desk I heard the faint "hisssssssssssssss" of what sounded like a steam, or gas leak. If the others had been in here generating the usual office noises I would never have noticed it, but in the comparative still of that early hour it was loud enough to be noticeable, and distinctly out of place. I started nosing around in my corner, trying to trace where it got louder and quieter. It seemed to be louder close to the server case, but louder still close to my backpack... (!)
Once I isolated the locale, it didn't take me long to find the source of the sound; the can of coke in my backpack had sprung a pin-sized hole in its side and was merrily venting a jet of diet coke (no sugar - thank goodness!) all over everything in my backpack. Joy. That's just the way that I like to start my Monday.

Oy. That sucked.
Date: 2004-07-26 08:34 pm (UTC)EVERYTHING (including me!) was, well, "misted" with sugary brown water in seconds.
Sticky floors. Sticky pants. Sticky cupboards. My bro found it amusing.
