atara had a bit of a rough night after waking up at about 2:00 this morning with a migraine. She had an idea for brunch this morning, but between head and back pain, she just didn't have the motivation to cook. She passed along her menu plan to me and set me loose in the kitchen. Pictured below is the result. All but one of these menu items are from the Farmer's Market. Clockwise from the roll are: toasted cinnamon roll from
Mum's Country Bakery, pan-fried breakfast sausage from Spenst Brothers Meats (who also sell some really wonderful bacon), Gordon Ramsay-style scrambled eggs from
Nature's Farm (who also carry a wide range of delicious pastas), and finally grapes from Safeway. They're organic. I think.

If I could go back and take this picture again I'd have tried to avoid the back-lighting, or used a flash to off-set the glare a bit. Maybe this will give me some incentive to finally create a proper, full-sized light box.
I shot this one at f/9.0 with a shutter speed of 1/60th of a second. I cropped it and colour-corrected it for daylight, and then finally sharpened it a bit in software.
