[livejournal.com profile] atara, [livejournal.com profile] pierrekrahn and I drove into town to take in the Ciclovia festival today. As festivals go, it was about on par with pretty much any other one I have taken in, with the exception of a few additional signs imploring people to walk or cycle more often. The ride was nice though, and it gave us an opportunity to hit up Kawai Crepes again for lunch.

By the the time we got home (about a 20km round trip), [livejournal.com profile] atara's legs were burning, and I had some serious saddle fatigue.

I could just imagine when she was packing her backpack. "iPhone? Check. Water bottle? Check. Sunglasses? Check. Dog? ..."

It amuses me that there is a market for crepe holders. I don't remember what [livejournal.com profile] pierrekrahn ordered here, but he seemed to enjoy it well enough.

This busker was getting ready to stand on a ladder and juggle three flaming torches, a knife and a teddy bear. He kept assuring us that "the teddy bear might die during this performance!" He spent so much time stalling and trying to gather a crowd that we finally got bored and left before his performance started. I don't know if the teddy bear survived.

Who's shooting whom? Even as I was taking this picture of [livejournal.com profile] atara, she was grabbing a picture of me.

This part of town used to be dominated by run down warehouses and abandoned industrial buildings. In recent years it has been largely gentrified, and much of it has been converted over to fancy condominiums.

This is the picture looking North along the Red River from the vantage point before [livejournal.com profile] atara and I swapped shots of each other.

It was a Pepe le Pizza crepe.

I love the clouds in that last picture.

I must be extremely out of the loop, because I don't think I've ever heard of this festival before!

I must say though, I think the last photo that you posted looks just amazing with how the clouds sort've follow the length of the river.

As much as I'd like to claim credit for the interesting clouds, I was just there to capture the occasion. On the other hand, I can't help but think that air currents over the river probably had a hand in shaping them that way.
