Year In Pictures: 2010/02/26
Feb. 26th, 2010 10:34 pmLittle headless plastic dude is catching some snow.

I spotted this guy embedded in the snow and ice on the side walk just outside of my office building.
For a change I shot this one on semi-automatic and let the camera choose its own settings. ISO is set to 100, shutter to 1/60 and f-stop to 4.0. As usual I boosted the exposer and contrast a bit, upped the saturation and then overlaid a gradient map to convert it to B&W. Sharpened it with a couple of unsharp masks and then finally painted out the overlay to bring back the colour of the plastic guy. I was going to leave the picture in colour, but the snow is actually reddish-brown in places due to all the salt and sand on the walks, so the got lost in the colour.
