It's one of the lights ringing the front fountain by my office building. It had melted itself a nice little cavern under the snow, and this morning the weather was finally warm enough to let it break through to the surface.
Hell can always freeze OVER, but it will never freeze solid.
Freezing over is simply the result of cold and humid conditions on the exterior. Meanwhile, inside Hell, the temperature can be hot just like always. Insulating Hell, and installing a vapour barrier will greatly increase the chances of Hell freezing over like this. I can't believe that I am taking this seriously.
There is still, clearly, an opening not quite frozen over *wink*
Of course, I always liked Dante's version of hell, with it starting out hot (the burning sands outside the gate), but at the center, betrayers are sunk in infinitely cold ice....
