Would you like fries with that?
Apr. 15th, 2008 10:45 amWhen I bought the patterns for the health and mana potion injectors, I bought them for myself so that I could save a bit of bag space. I badly underestimated how much demand there would be for potion injectors, and I think that I am beginning to sympathize with the mages who witness the feeding frenzy every time they drop a food table at the start of a run. Maybe this is how a crack dealer feels.
On the other hand, it doesn't cost me anything to make them, so any time a guild mate shows up with the raw materials in hand, I am happy to oblige. I will just need to get into the habit of keeping a bit more free bag space.
Having downed Al'ar and Solarian again, we originally planned to get in another try on Kael, but we found ourselves unexpected short a couple of tanks. After a bit of debate the officers decided to see if Void Reaver was doable after the changes in the 2.4 patch. Ugh. Until Blizzard fixes the targeting issues, VR is nigh impossible. Four wipes later we decided to head down to SSC and pick some loot off of Hydross.
If we got nothing else out of our weekend raiding, it finally opened the eyes of our guild officers and raid leader to the antics of our new warlock. It is one thing to be indulgent of him when he talks trash and strokes his e-peen in guild chat, but the act loses his charm when he starts consistently pulling aggro off the main tank in a raid. He pulled Hydross off our main tank at least three times on Sunday (he may have done it more than that, but I was busy healing the raid and I only noticed the three times).
One of our hunters gave him a serious dressing down after we downed the boss (with 8 seconds to spare on the enrage timer because we found ourselves down on critical DPS after somebody kept pulling aggro and getting himself and others killed). The kid tried to blame it on his 1337 damage during the adds phase after the transition, and claimed that it was not his fault that his SoC was so epic. The hunter called him on it. "I was watching you, and it had nothing to do with your damage during the adds phase. They were down for a long time before you pulled him off of [the tank]. Are you even watching your threat meters?"
In fairness, I was not entirely blameless in the fight either. Did you know that if you pop a health stone during the transition phase, Hydross will tent-peg you into the floor? I know that now too. If my PoM had not been on cool-down from putting it on the main tank, I'd have dropped one of those on myself instead.
As usual, he dropped nothing for the cloth-wearers.

Date: 2008-04-15 03:58 pm (UTC)Have you done Leotheras the Blind yet? He completely wipes aggro every 20 seconds... after spinning around the room like an autistic Tourette's sufferer on meth. So not only will he jump on you for popping a mana emerald, but you haven't a fucking clue where he'll end up when he stops Whirlwinding and blanks out his threat table.
Fun times, lemme tell ya.
