Garfield without Garfield

atara put me on to a new site the other day. Everyone is familiar with the Garfield cartoons where Garfield's dialogue has been removed, but apparently the strips become even more surreal if you remove Garfield entirely. Here is an example that I created (or erased in this case). Once you factor out the cat, the strips become a little creepy.



I may crank out more of these if I get bored some day since I have a disc with 26 years of Garfield strips on it (it was given to me -- I certainly didn't seek it out).

These guys have an RSS feed of the new, improved Garfieldless strips so that you can get your daily fill of the lonely, creepy catless Jon Arbuckle.

Has there been any reaction that you're aware of from Jim Davis/Paws Inc. to these "Garfieldless" strips that have become all the rage?
