I don't know which was worse, being awakened at 4:30 in the morning by the sound of two cats vomiting, or searching around later in the morning and only being able to find one hairball...

Isn't it amazing how the sound of a vomiting cat manages to reverberate through an entire household?

I'll never forget the night Ra vomited in my bed, with me in it. That was uniquely unpleasant.

Yes, an alarm.... too bad it went off two and a half hours early in this case.

My cat isn't neurotic, he's deathly ill -- so I cut him a small amount of slack because it's out of his control and I've been in his proverbial shoes before.

However, with that being said, I still can't understand why the little twit understands to use the litter box for waste but won't do me the favor of vomiting on things that aren't carpet. One time he even harfed on top of my kitchen table.

Cleaning up vomit is just one of the joys of owning a pet. If it's not a cat hacking up a hairball, it's the dog spewing up something smelly and disgusting that he mistook for food earlier.

My cat not only has to deal with hairballs, but she's on two different oral medicines that irritate her stomach if she doesn't get food into her soon enough after the medicine.

I would laugh, but I've found more than one hairball that way. When you own cats you learn not to walk barefoot in the dark.
