They took away my LJ at work
Aug. 14th, 2007 06:31 amOur vendor recently updated the firewall at work so that it blocks out almost all of the fun, interesting or useful web sites. They have done this before and backed off again, so we'll see what happens. Right now, though, it is blocked to the point where one might reasonably question why we even bother with the expense of having a connection to the net in the first place.
I finally got more word on my aunt. She has pulled her foot out of the grave, and has moved from hear death bed to her "not quite dead yet" bed again, but I guess it is just a matter of time at this point. =( Dad's sisters are cut from pretty tough cloth, and I am not surprised to hear that she is putting up a good fight.
From the "threw up a bit in the back of my mouth" file, here is today's slice of weirdness from New Zealand. Say hi to the Mayonnaise Margarita...

Do not want.

Also, is it against company policy to bypass firewalls (say, via a TCP/IP tunnel)? Could just browse it via a home machine.
