As part of their concessions to help grease the way for their acquisition of BellSouth, AT&T is offering cheap DSL service for the next 2 1/2 years in some places. They're not actually advertising it, so you may have to enquire around a bit to find out if you're in one of the affected areas, but at $10 a month it's worth a look.
