Home for a couple of days

It's been a very long day, so I'll be fairly brief here. When they found out that I was planning to drive home this weekend, they gave me an extra day off to help make it more worth the trip. Apparently this is a new policy that they just put in place for the ES people in the field. Every 2-3 weeks we're to be given an extra day off if we want to head home for a bit. It doesn't sound like much, but it made the 4-hour drive seem to go by a lot faster knowing that I would not have to turn around and drive right back.

If I gained one thing from the long drive home it is a renewed appreciation for mufflers, and the uncomfortable knowledge that my car needs one. About midway home I began to regret that I'd put my PPE ear protection in the hatch before I left the hotel. Methinks I know at least one thing I will be doing while atara is at work tomorrow...

How long to you figure you're going to be at this?

Nobody knows - much of it depends on how long it takes the two sides to get back to the bargaining table. My guess is that it will be at least a month.
