Folks, as a FYI & reminder, the wooden garbage bins will be removed from our space approx Thursday this week.

If you haven’t already, could you please take time to review your assigned workstation, desk drawers etc and place any unnecessary material/garbage in the bins.

Thank you.

" approx Thursday this week."

So what they're telling us is that it could be today, or it could even be next Monday. You don't know, because it's only an approximation. Could we have some parameters on how rough we are being with this estimate? Have we not made prior arrangements to remove the garbage bins? I suppose it is possible that the contractors were imprecise. When pressed for details about when they would return for the bins, they may have replied, "we will return on a Thursday-like day."

I can't speak for them, but we get messages from the owners of the office building we're in like this a lot, and what it seems to mean is "as soon as Thursday." In other words, the work order has been put in, and someone has replied that "the earliest we can get to it is Thursday."

I'm not defending the middle-person's inability to phrase this in a meaningful way, just sharing your pain. :P

In the case here I think they mean "Thursday or any day thereafter."
