plonq: (WoW Mood)

They gave me a free coffee at Tim Hortons this morning, along with a mild rebuke. Apparently they all saw me take a spill outside the store yesterday and they were concerned that I might have hurt myself. They had even poured me a fresh coffee at the time and were a bit surprised that I didn't come back in after I fell.

Anyway, as you can probably guess from the icon I'm going to geek about WoW again. It was an off-night for raiding last night, so a group of us formed an ad hoc 10-man group to try and get a few more guild mates keyed for Onyxia. We killed all of the requisite world dragons, and then grouped up for an UBRS run -- which worked for me because I still needed Emberseer's eye. I admit that I had become a bit burnt out on UBRS after endless grinding for various Tier 0 armour pieces, but last night was a lot of fun. It makes a big difference when you go into an instance with an experienced, well-geared, properly-balanced party. We danced through botched pulls (stupid shadow priest tab-targeted and pulled the wrong group -- oops) and glitches.

The nastiest glitch was the Rend event. We'd heard that they'd sped it up a bit after the 2.0 patch, but this was ridiculous. While sending in the waves a bit closer together speeds things up a bit, I have no idea how a guild in greens would have a prayer of surviving that event. As an added bonus, Rend got impatient and decided to pile into the room along with the last wave of mobs. It made for an interesting fight, but we took them all down with minimal casualties -- in spite of the fact that our holy priest was AFK through the event (but he'd warned us well in advance that he would have to go AFK at 9:30 server time and we decided to push on anyway).

After all the raiding I've done over the last few months, I am starting to remember how much fun it can be to run the smaller instances.
