atara linked to this video in her journal, showing a horde guild in WoW clearing Blackwing Lair (in case you're curious to see how we spend our Sundays). It was a fun video for me on a couple of levels. Firstly I finally got to see some of the boss fights. True, I've been through all of them many times, but I've never really seen them. For me, one of these fights usually consists of staring at a screen full of name plates and status bars. My job is to stay out of harm's way and try to minimize the number of deaths in the fight.

The other thing that was interesting was seeing another guild's strategies in action. They had slightly different positioning on a couple of the bosses (Broodlord Lashlayer in particular), and they had a lot of druids fighting in feral form - both bear and cat. I wonder if they just have a surplus of druids and can afford that luxury, or if they have a shortage of warriors and are utilizing the druids as off-tanks? They also did some interesting kiting of the trash mobs in a couple of the clears, pulling them to the previous room where we tend to fight them in situ. There's nothing wrong with either strategy, but I'm a little curious about the logic behind theirs - though I suspect it falls under the heading of, "We've always done it this way and it works."
