Weekend weenie roast

Here is a picture from our weekend hot dog/marshmallow roast up at the park.

The picture is pretty self-explanatory.


It only sat on the burning coals for about 30 seconds. 
It's a little dark around the edges, but if you get rid of the slivers...

Aren't you supposed to light the coals, then wait an hour until they've stopped burning and are just glowing? Or is that just an Australian thing?
