Apr. 24th, 2006 07:39 amMy arm hurts. On closer inspection I appear to have a scratch running down a good length of my forearm. I don't remember getting scratched there, but that is often the case when you share a house with three cats; they are very pointy creatures. This scratch probably happened when I was holding Belladonna last night, and she launched herself off my lap after one of the other cats made an unexpected racket. I have a lovely rake across my stomach, and apparently a gouge down the length of my arm that I didn't notice until just now. On the other hand, her fur is almost rabbit-like in softness. Every once in awhile she gives me a bloody reminder of the dichotomy of her nature: soft, yet sharp. She's being a real suck for attention lately, but she's so high-strung that it's always slightly dangerous to hold her.
I probably would have noticed the scratch earlier if I was awake, but I haven't completely awakened yet. It's not that I'm tired - in fact I feel pretty good this morning - but I'm stumbling through the day in a dream-like daze. Everything has a slightly disconnected feel about it, as if I'm a half-step out of sync with reality.
Hm. After reading some discussion in the local LJ community I have this sudden craving for fresh perogies. =9
[Gah. The spell-checker in Outlook wants me to spell it "pierogies", and the spell-checker in Semagic wants me to spell it "pirogies". Meh. All of my Ukrainian friends spelt it "perogies", so that's good enough for me.]
