Mar. 8th, 2006 07:32 amThe scene:
plonq and
atara are shopping for groceries. As Plonqie is loading up the shopping cart with tuna & cracker snacks for his lunches, his eyes fall on the low-fat ones. Usually he brushes those ones out of the way when he's grabbing his tuna snacks, but he picks one up and examines the packaging.
"I wonder why I never get these ones?" he muses aloud.
Because they're gross!, says the little voice in his head. Now put it back before you hurt yourself.
"I tried them once," he continues, ignoring the nagging little voice. "Surely once is not enough times to establish a trend. Maybe I'll toss a low-fat one into the mix. It wouldn't hurt me to reduce the fat in my diet a bit."
Don't be daft! You nearly blew chunks on your desk the last time you bought the low-fat tuna snacks. You won't like it. Find other ways to reduce fat. Put it back! Now!
"A person's tastes change," argues Plonqie defensively. "I may like now what I did not like three years ago." He tosses the the low-fat tuna snack into his cart.
[fast forward 15 hours]
Who was right?
"You were right."
I can't hear you.
"Okay, it was gross. If there had been one more cracker in there it would have put me off tuna snacks for life. It was that gross."
So you remember now why you haven't been buying them? Oh, and your co-workers are out to kill you.
"Shut-up!"
