Feb. 9th, 2006 08:43 amThis current Windows install has followed me through three different motherboards, but last night I finally managed to kill it entirely. I've managed to make it stop recognizing some of my hardware, and I can make it crash reliably by attempting to use the network. Ironically it was my attempts to fix the networking that caused this meltdown in the first place.
The only upside I can see from this is that I will (with luck) be picking up a new SATA hard drive for the install, and I'll have a virgin copy of Windows to play with when I'm done. I should see a reasonable speed increase on my computer when I'm done.
... then I have to start tracking down install disks and keyfiles and... bleah. I can see how I'll be spending the rest of my week. =(
[Edit: This strip always comes to mind whenever I experience serious computer problems.]
