The problem is that a lot of the work I've done has been initial legwork, number crunching and analysis to lay groundwork for some of these projects, but it's not the kind of work that has anything substantial to show for it unless the project actually makes it into production.

In short, I've spent much of the year mired in potential and spinning my wheels, but I've really not gone anywhere since the start of the year. Not the kind of stuff that they like to see on a year-end review. Fortunately I've handled close to 300 Ad Hoc requests during that time, so I'll just bury the projects under the volume of smaller tasks.
