Year In Pictures: 2010/04/13
Apr. 13th, 2010 08:07 pmSpring has not entirely sprung yet, but it is in the process of springing. There was nothing but dead leaves here when we checked the garden on the weekend, and suddenly... tulips!

I was hoping that this would turn out a little sharper, but I should have gone with a wider f-stop and a faster shutter. In any event, I shot this at 1/60th of a second with the aperture set to f/11.0. It was cloudy and dull out there, so I used a flash to fill out the shadows a bit.
Here's a bonus video along with this picture. After his stint with Tool, Maynard Keenan went on to release some solo trip-hop under the name Puscifer. He also bought a winery. I don't know if there is a connection between the two, but wine is featured in this video. Also anyone who plays chess might appreciate the classic four-move scholar's mate played out by the animated chess board.
The song is catchy and it's a fun video, though slightly NSFW in places. There is a higher res version of it available on Youtube, but that one is blocked from embedding.
