Benediction
May. 29th, 2006 01:19 amThe Eye of Divinity dropped in Molten Core last week, and since I was the only priest along on the run who was interested, they gave it to me. By itself, this item does nothing, but if you run a quest and then combine it with The Eye of Shadow, you can create a really cool staff named Benediction.

atara and I teamed up with one of the mages in our guild to go grinding for the second eye up in Winterspring. It has a depressingly low drop rate, but it fell into our laps in just over an hour of farming for it. Even though it was getting on in the evening, we decided to push on and see if we could complete the quest for the staff. That is, I had to complete it while they stood by and watched since this quest has to be done solo. A second priest showed up and joined our little group in time for the event and though he couldn't help with any of the critters, he helped out with the healing enough to make it a successful run on the first try. Even better, he got the quest reward as well just for being there.
I won't go into the quest details except to tell you that it's insane. I think I sweated out about a pint of fluids during the 5-10 minutes that it ran.atara came around and watched over my shoulder while I worked on it, occasionally giving helpful advice, and making sympathetic sounds. Anyway, here's the staff I got for my work (behind a cut tag).
