Hot hot hot
May. 10th, 2005 09:18 amThis stuff is just insane.
The hotness of peppers (or the extracts thereof) are measured in Scoville units. Tabasco sauce falls somewhere in the 2500 to 5000 range, depending on the variety.
A couple of years ago I bought something called Satan's Blood that comes in at 800,000 units, or about 160 Tabascos.
( I bought it mostly for the bottle. )
Here is an extract that weighs in at 16,000,000 units of hotness. It's 20 times hotter than the sauce that I've been afraid to open, and it's 3200 times hotter than the hottest Tabasco sauce out there. It's insane.
( And it's deceptively clear. )
