George Thorogood & the Destroyers are coming to town late next month.  I'm not sure if I'm enough of a fan to actually buck up and see them in concert, but I called up Ticketmaster's site to see if there were tickets available.  On first try I found two tickets in good seats in a decent section of the arena.

$37.50 per ticket.  (not bad)
$.50 "Building Facility Charge" per ticket.  (not sure what that is, but it's only $.50)
$8.25 "Convenience Charge" per ticket.  Convenience charge?  Whose convenience?
$2.50 "Pickup Fee".  That is, if I go to the trouble of heading to their outlet, they charge me another $2.50 per ticket to pick them up, but wait...
$5.00 "ticketFast"  (Yes, that's how they capitalize it).  With this one they email the ticket to you.... and charge you twice what it would cost to pick them up in person.  WTF?

So my cheapest option is to pick up the tickets at the window, where I am only shelling out an additional 30% on the ticket price to Ticketmaster.

It seems like just the other day that I was complaining about the airlines where I'll have to pay an additional 27% on top of the tickets.

Do I sense a theme here (besides the fact that I complain a lot)?

Well, ticket master is not just for concerts, it's for shows, boxing, wrestling, theater...

Even when I attended the premiere of TLKII: Simba's pride, I had to get the tickets via TicketMaster -.-
