Mental note to self...

A quick mental note to self:  as satisfying as it might be to use the words "Steelers" and "spanked" in the same sentence, in the interests of keeping peace in the office, avoid doing so today.

I don't follow the NFL close enough to care one way or the other myself, but a couple of the guys in here live and breathe NFL (and it's probably moot to mention which team one of them follows...).

I behaved myself admirably. Sort of. A bit.

Well, okay, I admit that I may have manipulated somebody else into doing my dirty work. I wandered by this other person's work area and said,

"What goes 'clang clang clang'? It's the sound of steel being spanked."

I knew that he'd be itching to taunt my co-worker about the score, and he couldn't resist that line. Just as I had anticipated, he hovered vulture-like around our office, waiting for my co-worker to arrive.

The result was rather anti-climactic. My usually hot-headed co-worker appears to have been replaced by a pod-person over the weekend, and rather than rising to the bait, he was very Zen-like and philosophical about the loss. "The better team won." Meh. People are no fun sometimes.
