We stopped to see the cat again on our way home (once again she was very happy to see us). They'd given her a an injection to settle her stomach and improve her apetite, then they'd force-fed her half a can of food. So far she's managed to keep it down - which is a very positive sign. On the other hand, a side-effect of this injection was that she was pretty dopy when we came to visit. As we left,
atara speculated that they must have injected her with a derivative of marijuana. "Think about it; it gave her the munchies and left her stoned."
The vet said that her latest blood tests showed improvements across the board, but not as many as he'd like to see. He's keeping her one more night so that he can pump her up with another bag of intravenous fluid and consult a specialist. (There are specialists on cat kidneys?) With luck we'll be bringing her home tomorrow so that she can againgrump grace us with her feline presence.
