There should be more options when you're posting other than "Current Mood:" and "Current Music:".

How about "Current Drink:"

My current drink is iced orange vodka with fresh-squeezed carrot juice. Er, well, fresh carrot juice anyway - I didn't exactly squeeze it, rather I ran some carrots through my new juicer. Anyway, the mix is much better than it sounds. Based on what it's doing to the glass though, I fear it might be turning my teeth orange.

Our little robot vacuum dude has been getting a workout over the past couple of days. I won't give a full review until we've had him for a couple of months, but here are some initial thoughts.

It can worm its way in and out of a lot of tight spaces, but it also has a bumper that extends a bit past its sides. We've noted where it got stuck a couple of times, and it was almost like a gill-net effect, where its bumper compressed to get past the obstacle, and then sprung back out, trapping it there. That has happened to it twice, and each time it's required moving something about an inch to ensure that it doesn't get stuck there again.

It sits there and makes pathetic little sounds when it gets stuck.

In terms of cleaning, it does a marvelous job on dust, lint and cat hair. It struggles a bit with larger things, though [livejournal.com profile] atara found that it had picked up some loose change in one of its forays. Overall I'd say that it does about as well as our upright vacuum, and actually does a better job along the edges and corners. Likewise its low profile lets it clean under furniture and cabinets that haven't been cleaned under in ages.

One of the things that this device has forced us to do is declutter our floors.

Oh! Speaking of drinks, I mentioned the return of absinthe to some friends while in Toronto, and instead of doing the whole spoon-sugar-fire ritual, they suggested mixing it with Sprite or, even better (according to them), with Mountain Dew.

How about calling the robot "Vooter"?

Well, now that it's got an income, I think it's about time to start charging it rent :)
